GAME 1 – 5:30PM - COWBOYS vs COLTS
This night with great cool football weather had this great entertaining game for the fans with lots of offense & twists and turns. The first quarter had several long gains including a 25-yard run on a draw play by #12 RB Simon A., and a 25-yard kickoff runback by Colts #4 Adam N. Cowboys then took the lead on a 10-yard TD catch by #7 WR Heaton Y., from QB #15 Finn G. Convert by #2 K Lucas H., Cowboys 7 Colts no score.In the 2nd quarter the teams traded scores with a 22-yard field goal by Cowboys #2 Lucas H., and a 35-yard catch and run by the Colts #4 WR Adam N. Convert no good. At half time the score was Cowboys 10 Colts 6.
The 3rd quarter had a 37-yard field goal try by Cowboys #2 Lucas H., tipped at the line by the Colts which allowed them to run it out of the endzone. Several long runs from scrimmage by Colts #11 RB Hayden B., racked up the yardage but no score so still 10-6 at the end of the 3rd.
The 4th quarter featured lots of great plays on both sides of the ball. A TD saving tackle at the one by Cowboys DB #21 Bryce D., a 50-yard run by Cowboys #12 Simon A., from their 1 to midfield and then a Cowboys punt pinned the Colts deep in their end. A highlight reel 75-yard run by Colts #5 QB Logan R., went for a TD. The crucial convert was missed leaving the score Colts 12 Cowboys 10. With time ticking down Cowboys try a 43-yard field goal but it goes wide. The Colts offensive drive stalls and a poor punt gives the Cowboys the ball at the Colts 32 and #2 Lucas H. kicks the winning field goal with 13 secs left on the clock. Final score Cowboys 13 Colts 12.
Cowboys offensive standouts were #12 RB Simon A., with 160-yards rushing and #2 K Lucas H., with two clutch field goals. Cowboys D saw #85 DL Bennett A., with 5 tackles and #58 DL Josiah C., with a key sack.
Colts offense saw #4 WR Adam N., with 100 combined offensive yards and #5 QB Logan R., with over 100 yards rushing. Colts defensive standouts were # 44 LB Owen Z., with 7 tackles and #3 LB Emerson L., and #19 DB Asher N., with 4 tackles each.
GAME 2 – 7:45PM - BULLDOGS vs CALGARY CHIEFS
A cool dry night for Spring Football saw the Bulldogs & Chiefs in a defensive struggle in the first quarter with no scoring but an interception by Bulldogs #11 DB Cyle C., ending with a 15-yard horse-collar foul by the Chiefs got the Dogs to the Chiefs 15. The Bulldogs tried a 23-yard field goal at the start of the 2nd quarter, but it went wide. The Chiefs managed to get it out of the endzone but a Chiefs fumble in the shadows of their own goalposts allowed the Bulldogs to take over and Dogs #7 QB Nick R., runs it in for the Bulldogs TD. Convert is good making it Bulldogs 7 Chiefs no score. A number of great defensive plays including an interception by Bulldogs #94 DB Andrew B., in his own endzone and a TD saving tackle by Bulldogs #43 LB Ethan S., kept the score 7-0 Bulldogs at the half.In the 3rd quarter, Bulldogs block a Chiefs punt but can’t move the ball. The score remains 7-0 Bulldogs.
In the 4th, a 40-yard catch & run by Chiefs #5 WR Austin L., is stopped by a TD saving tackle by Bulldogs DB Camilo G. On the next Chiefs series, a 20-yard TD catch by Chiefs # 1 WR Oliver N., and a good convert makes it 7-6 Bulldogs. A 22-yard field goal by Chiefs K #25 Thatcher J., makes the score 9-7 Chiefs. The Bulldogs have several chances to add to their score after a Chiefs unnecessary roughness foul, but a Bulldogs fumble recovered by Chiefs #90 DL Leif N., seals the victory for the Chiefs 9-7.
The Chiefs defense was led by #45 LB Josh G., and #35 LB Kaydence O., with 4 tackles each. # 47 LB Owen M. added a QB sack for the Chiefs.
Bulldogs D saw # 45 LB Sadel K., with 5 tackles and interceptions by # 11 DB Cyle C., and # 94 Andrew B.
