GAME 1 – 5:30PM - COWBOYS vs HILLTOPPERS
A chilly, very windy night was the stage for this Week 3 matchup with the elements playing a large role in the outcome of this game.The wind assisted opening kickoff went through the endzone to stake the Cowboys to an early 1-0 lead. The rest of the 1st quarter saw several long runs, a Cowboys field goal try and a Cowboys TD on a 40-yard run by #24 RB RJ H., nullified by holding and offside calls. The wind made punting difficult for both teams. 1-0 Cowboys at the end of the 1st quarter.
In the 2nd quarter the Toppers got their offense going with several long runs from scrimmage by #10 RB Sirani B., capped off by his 1-yard TD plunge. Convert no good. 6-1 Hilltoppers. As time was running out in the 2nd quarter, an interception and 30-yard return by Hilltoppers #20 DB Brodie E., set up a 30-yard field goal try by Hilltoppers kicker # 23 Dorian R. The kick was good at the start of the 3rd. 9-1 Hilltoppers.
Later in the 3rd quarter, a second interception by Toppers DB #20 Brodie E., and a horse-collar tackle flag on the Cowboys gave the Toppers good field position but a high snap back to the Cowboys 40 took them out of scoring range. Toppers attempt a 44-yard field goal and the boys fumble on the return recovered by Hilltoppers #11 LB Bryden F., gave the Hilltoppers a second chance and their 15-yard field goal try by K #23 Dorian R. is good. 12-1 Hilltoppers at the end of the 3rd.
The Cowboys open the 4th with a 25-yard field goal by K #2 Lucas H., to make it 12-4 Hilltoppers. After a sack for a loss by Cowboys #51 Caleb W., followed by several turnovers and 1st downs by both teams wiped out by penalty flags, the Hilltoppers give up a safety. Score now 12-6 Hilltoppers. Towards the end of the game, both teams traded sacks, fumbles. and penalties but Toppers #3 DB Cavan S., snuffs out a Cowboys scoring drive with an interception on their 1-yard line. On the ensuing series, Cowboys # 85 DL Andersen B., recovers a Hilltoppers fumble on their 1-yard line and they punch it in with a TD by #12 RB Miguel S. making it 12-12. Cowboys convert by K #2 Lucas H., makes it 13-12 sealing the victory for the Cowboys. The Hilltoppers defense picked off the Cowboys 6 times including two each by #95 DL David G., and #20 DB Brodie E., and a sack by #99 DL Donovan M., Toppers offense led by #10 RB Sirani B., with 80-yards on the ground. Cowboys #82 WR Zack A., had several long receptions including a 65-yard catch & run in the 4th quarter. Cowboys defense had 5 tackles by # 6 LB John D. and an interception by DB #5 William D., to snuff out a Hilltoppers comeback at the end of the game.
GAME 2 – 7:45PM - RAIDERS vs WILDCATS
After a scoreless first quarter, which included several long runs by Raiders QB #7 Kohen B., the 2nd quarter featured a 10-yard and 20-yard catch & run by Wildcats #10 WR Jeremy W. Also, a 25-yard run by Raiders #7 Kohen B., and a 15-yard catch & run by Raiders WR #15 Weston L. A 30-yard catch & run by Raiders WR #88 Matias P., to the Wildcats red zone setup a Raiders 20-yard field goal attempt which was wide and went for a rouge. Raiders lead 1-0. An interception by the Cats DB #23 Owen E. set up a 25-yard field goal try by Wildcats kicker #59 Aleksey G. The kick was blocked, and Raiders DB #31 P.J. L., ran it out of the endzone. Raiders off-side on the play gave the Cats another try but the kick was no good and Raiders once again run it out of the endzone. Score at the half, remained Raiders 1 Wildcats no score.
In the 3rd quarter, following a 15-yard scamper by Raiders #15 Weston L., a 20-yard field goal by Raiders K #88 Matias P., made the score 4-0 Raiders.
In the 4th quarter, the Cats recovered a Raiders fumble at their own 5-yard line, but they could not move the ball and a short punt gave the Raiders the ball at the Wildcats 45. Two 15-yard run plays by Raiders RB #24 Jaiden B., and #15 Weston L., set up a 10-yard run for a TD by #15 Weston L., making it 10-0 Raiders. Convert was good 11-0 Raiders. As time was winding down, Raiders LB #35 Colton J., recovered a Wildcats fumble. The Raiders then scored on a 25-yard TD run by #24 Jaiden B. Convert was good making the final score Raiders 18 Wildcats no score.
Raiders offense was powered by QB #7 Kohen B., with 60-yards rushing and #15 Weston L., with 80-yards on the ground and #24 Jaiden B., with 60-yards and 2 TD's. Raiders defense had #61 DL Cole A., with a sack and #5 LB Chike D., and #8 DB Aleksandre N., with 3 tackles each. Wildcats #10 WR Jeremy W., had 4 catches for 45-yards and the Cats defense was led by #25 DB Jackson G., with 4 tackles and #97 DL Brayden W.
