Week 1 Games
2022-04-06Cowboys vs the Wildcats….
The Cowboys summed the game up by saying… Both the Cowboys and Wildcats brought a strong defence to the first game of the season. The Cowboys offence persevered and came out on top. The final score of the game was Cowboys 26 vs Wildcats 07.

The later game on Hellard field was between the Hilltoppers vs the Stampeders. According to Coach Dyler for the Stamps: We saw a major defensive battle between two equally matched teams. The Hilltoppers jumped out to an early lead on a Stamps safety on the first drive of the game. The Stamps defence led by an impressive performance by a Middle Linebacker and they battled back - creating a turnover in 2 of their next 3 defensive drives. Nearing the end of the 1st half, a Stamps penalty extended a drive that led to the Hilltoppers only TD of the game on the next play. Defence was highlighted in the 2nd half as a second forced safety on the Stamps lead to a 12 – 0 lead for the Hilltoppers, which would end up being the final score.

On Encana field it was a battle between the Bulldogs and the Mavericks. Coach Rozier said it was great to be on the field again! Playing games! The competition level was high on both teams! And we look forward to playing them again in a of couple weeks time.
According to Coach MacKay of the Mavericks…After over 1,000 days, we are finally under the lights of Shouldice for a Spring Game! The Mavericks vs the Bulldogs was a back and forth game with neither team yielding any points. We are looking forward to April 21st when we will get another chance to compete against the ‘Dogs!”
The Colts and Raiders battled it out on the Stampeder field with a final score of Raiders 28 and the Colts 7.
Games of the week, played on Hellard Field – April 7 - are:
Mavericks vs Wildcats at 6:15pm
And
Cowboys vs Colts at 8:15pm
Games on Stampeder field this week are:
Bulldogs vs Rebels at 6:15pm
And
Stampeders vs Raiders at 8:15pm

Just as a reminder… Gates are a voluntary donation! If you don’t have money on you – please don’t feel the need to climb through or jump the fence!! We all love to have the stands full and hear the cheering for the teams, so please come on in and enjoy the games!
